TCG OPAL
Self-Encrypting Drive (SED)
Self-Encrypting Drives (SEDs) integrate hardware-based encryption to secure data at rest. A Media Encryption Key (MEK) encrypts and decrypts data, protecting sensitive information in applications like IoT, industrial systems, and medical devices.
SEDs comply with TCG Opal, a standard for managing drive encryption through authentication credentials. Once locked, data is inaccessible without the correct key, ensuring robust security.
TCG/Opal 2.0
TCG/Opal 2.0 defines encryption standards for storage devices, preventing unauthorized data access. It ensures sensitive information remains secure, even if a drive is physically accessed.
SP Industrial's TCG/Opal 2.0 SSDs
SP Industrial offers SATA III and NVMe SSDs featuring AES-256 encryption for secure, hardware-based data protection without performance loss. These drives support TCG/Opal encryption and can also utilize ATA security commands when Opal features are disabled.
SP Industrial SSDs are validated through the Drive Trust Alliance's "sedutil" program for reliable encryption. Contact SP Industrial for a full list of TCG/Opal 2.0-compliant products.
