pSLC
SP Industrial bridges the gap between SLC and MLC/3D TLC solutions with pseudo-SLC (pSLC) Flash, a more advanced variant of MLC/3D TLC. pSLC offers faster speeds, higher program/erase cycle endurance, and better reliability than standard MLC/3D TLC, while being more cost-effective than SLC. It operates similarly to SLC but has fewer program/erase cycles, making it an efficient choice for applications demanding high endurance.
The SSD550 series, SP Industrial's latest pSLC-based industrial SSD, is built with 3D NAND technology and delivers up to 30,000 program/erase cycles, thanks to LDPC ECC and Block/Page RAID functionalities. This makes it an excellent solution for endurance-critical applications. The SSD550 series incorporates advanced Direct-To-TLC and SLC cache firmware architecture, along with external DRAM, to ensure optimal sustained read and write performance. Additionally, write performance is improved by more than 10%.
To enhance reliability, the SSD550 series features an integrated industrial-grade Active PMU (Power Management Unit), offering superior protection compared to traditional discrete circuits. It includes OVP (Over Voltage Protection), OCP (Over Current Protection), surge rejection, and input-output short protection, providing a higher level of reliability than traditional fuse designs.
